I have been teaching Japanese at California State University, Sacramento since 2002, where I also serve as the Japanese Program Director. Prior to joining Sacramento State, I served as a Japanese language specialist at four universities and two U.S. school districts.
I served as the AP Japanese Chief Reader from 2019 to 2023 and on the AP Japanese Exam Development Committee from 2007 to 2011. I have also participated in the AP Japanese Reading since 2008
