Gabriela Martin is a native of Venezuela who has 17 years of high school teaching experience in Illinois. She currently serves as the Head of the World Languages & Cultures Division at Lake Zurich High School in Lake Zurich, Illinois. Gabriela has a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Northern Illinois University, a Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from Concordia University of Chicago, a Masters of Arts in Leadership and School Administration from Benedictine University, and a Masters of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from Northern Illinois University. Gabriela has participated in the AP Reading for the last six years, and during this time, she has served as a leader working on the sample selection process, and then leading a group of teachers and professors throughout the duration of the Reading. Gabriela has been a presenter for various regional and national foreign language AP conferences, including AP Annual Conferences, the ACTFL Annual Conventions, and Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. She is currently working on her doctoral program through Indiana University on Literacy, Language, & Culture Education.
