Greg Thorson currently teaches AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, and AP U.S. Government and Politics at BASIS Mesa High School in Mesa, Arizona. He’s taught both AP Micro and AP Macro for a total of 7 years. In addition, Greg has also been a table reader for scoring AP Microeconomics exams. Greg’s students have won state and regional championships in the National Economics Challenge in both the David Ricardo (2020) and Adam Smith (2022) divisions of the competition, with both teams finishing in the top 6 nationally. Teaching economics has really been a game changer for him as a teacher, rejuvenating his passion for teaching and enhancing his own understanding of just about everything else. One of his major goals is to create instruction which engages and allows for meaningful/thoughtful participation from students while also preparing them to be successful on the AP exams. He can’t wait to share his experience, enthusiasm, and most useful teaching techniques/resources to help ensure you and your students can be successful in the course while facilitating the same love and appreciation of economics.
