US History – Bill Zeigler

Bill Zeigler lives in San Diego, California with his wife Marianne. He earned his BA in History from San Diego State University and MA in Education, emphasizing professional development in gifted education. He teaches History-Social Sciences and English at San Marcos High School, California. Bill currently serves as the Assistant to the Chief Reader for AP World History.

Bill has taught the AP US History course since 1990 (his second year of teaching) and has witnessed and participated in numerous changes to the course. He was a Reader in US History at Trinity University from 1999 to 2002 before shifting to World History in 2003. He has led national and international sessions in History-Social Science and Vertical Teaming in Social Sciences for the College Board since 2000. He also serves as a Mentor for World History and is a lead developer for the Project Based Learning curriculum in AP World History. Bill has served as a member of the program committee and the executive board of the World History Association, and the program committee for the AP Annual Conference. Bill has presented at the World History Association, National Council for the Social Studies, and the AP Annual Conferences. Bill is a College Board consultant in World History, US History and Pre-AP World History and Geography. Over the past 25 years, he has served as an AP workshop leader and APSI AP course instructor throughout the USA and International. Bill looks forward to working with teachers participating in the Idaho APSI.
