German – Susanne Smith

SUSANNE SMITH is classroom teacher at Cherry Creek High School in Denver, Colorado.  She has taught all levels of German, including AP and DSD.  Susanne has been involved with the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange, the Concordia Language Villages, and the Zentrum für Auslandsschulwesen as a PASCH school.  Her research at the University of Frankfurt Institut für Jugendbuchforschung through the Fulbright Research Grant involved East German children’s television.  Susanne has a BA in English Education and German Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, an MA in German Studies from Colorado University Boulder, a principal licensure from Denver University, and is a National Board Certified Teacher.  

Since 2015 she has served as a Rater and Question Leader at the AP Reading.  In her workshops, Susanne strives to give teachers the resources they need to improve their German programs and skills to best prepare their students for success on the AP German Language and Culture Exam. Susanne, her husband, two daughters, twelve chickens and four beehives live in Larkspur, CO.
