Seminar ENG – Spencer Wolf

Spencer has been an English teacher since 2009 and started teaching AP Seminar in 2015. He has extensive knowledge of assessment prompts for AP English Language and Composition, AP Research, and AP Seminar. Since 2016, he has worked as a consultant, providing training to teachers across the US and internationally.

In 2021, he earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership from UCLA, focusing on a nationally representative study of AP Capstone teachers’ curriculum and teaching methods. He has been a member of the Teaching and Learning Team dedicated to supporting AP Seminar: ELA since 2023

 

Seminar APSI Course Description

In this interactive and engaging APSI you will gain all the tools necessary to guide students to success in AP Seminar. Not only will you be guided through the curriculum framework, but you will receive one-on-one support in designing a relevant and meaningful curriculum for your students. Starting with the conceptual goals of the course, you’ll gain familiarity with the performance task assessments and rubrics,  enduring understandings and learning objectives, and skills necessary to help students develop the inquiry, argument and communication skills central to the course. You’ll leave this APSI with a broad range of strategies and activities to use in your course, as well as expert coaching in how to plan your course in a way that empowers your students and works for your school context.
