Nathan is a high school teacher from Palmer, Alaska. Currently his course schedule includes AP Research, American Literature, A Survey of Film in British Literature, and AP Seminar with a focus on film and monster theory. In his free time he enjoys officiating football, coaching basketball, trail running, and drinking kombucha.
Participant Grants
College Board awards grants for qualifying teachers new to an AP subject to attend an AP Summer Institute (APSI). The request form is open March–June or until all grants have been distributed.
Who Is Eligible
To qualify you must:
- be teaching an AP course for the first time in 2026-27
- not have attended an APSI or received College Board funding for the same course
- not have received professional learning funding from your school, district, or state
