German – Susanne Smith

SUSANNE SMITH has been a classroom teacher since 2003 and teaches at Cherry Creek High School in Denver, Colorado.  She has taught all levels of German, including AP and DSD.  Susanne has been involved with the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange, the Concordia Language Villages, and the Zentrum für Auslandsschulwesen as a PASCH school.  Her research at the University of Frankfurt Institut für Jugendbuchforschung through the Fulbright Research Grant involved East German children’s television.  Susanne has a BA in English Education and German Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, an MA in German Studies from Colorado University Boulder, and a principal licensure from Denver University.  She has served as a Rater and Table Leader at the German AP Reading for five years.  In her workshops, Susanne strives to give teachers the resources they need to improve their German programs and skills to best prepare their students for success on the AP German Language and Culture Exam.

Susanne, her husband, two daughters, cat, eleven chickens and three beehives live in Larkspur, CO.
