PBL Business – Dawn Herbert

Dawn is a dedicated educator with over 25 years of experience, committed to preparing students for success in both college and careers. She currently teaches Advanced Placement courses including AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A at Saugus High School, where she emphasizes problem-solving, computational thinking, and real-world applications of technology.In addition to her work in computer science, Dawn is deeply invested in business and financial literacy education. She participated in the field test study for AP Business with Personal Finance, contributing to the development and implementation of this emerging course. Her instructional approach integrates hands-on learning, real-world financial scenarios, and project-based experiences that equip students with essential life skills.

Dawn serves as an active advisor for her school’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter and is a Section Director, supporting student leadership development and competitive excellence at multiple levels. In recognition of her impact, she was named a 2024 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program Distinguished Teacher.

She holds a Master’s degree in Secondary Education and is committed to continuous professional growth through opportunities such as the Advanced Placement Summer Institute. Dawn is passionate about expanding access to high-quality business and personal finance education and empowering students to make informed financial decisions throughout their lives.
