Scholarships

College Board APSI Scholarships 2024

The following scholarships are available to AP teachers who will be attending an APSI in 2024.

  1. AP Fellows APSI Scholarship:
    1. The AP Fellows scholarship provides funds for teachers at high schools serving minority or low-income students who have been traditionally underrepresented in AP courses to attend an AP Summer Institute. The $1,000 scholarship covers the cost of AP Summer Institute tuition. Remaining funds, if the APSI was in-person/on-site and after the tuition has been paid, will be sent to the teacher to be applied toward travel expenses.
    2. Eligible AP subjects: All AP subjects EXCEPT AP Capstone (Seminar and Research)
    3. Criteria
      Teachers must: Plan to teach an AP course in the 2024-25 academic year Teach in a high school at which at least 50% of the student population consists of underrepresented minorities and/or at least 50% of the student population qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch Not have received a College Board APSI scholarship for the same subject within the last 3 years
  2. AP Rural Fellows APSI Scholarship:
    1. Provides an AP Summer Institute tuition funding up to $1,500 for AP teachers serving in rural areas of the country and attending a College Board APSI.
    2. Eligible AP subjects: All AP subjects EXCEPT AP Capstone (Seminar and Research)
    3. Criteria: Teachers must plan to teach an AP course in the 2024-25 academic year  and teach in a high school that is classified as “rural” by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and at which at least 50% of the students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch (all islands of Hawaii, except Oahu, will be considered “rural” regardless of the NCES data) Not have received a College Board APSI scholarship for the same subject within the last 3 years
  3. AP Capstone APSI Fee Waiver:
    1. For teachers who are planning to attend the AP Capstone summer professional development event.
    2. Scholarship amount by way of a Fee Waiver code to cover the cost of tuition.
    3. Eligible AP subjects: ONLY AP Capstone (Seminar and Research)

Scholarship applications open each year in mid-December and close in mid-February.

All College Board APSI scholarship recipients must register with the College Board and with the APSI as scholarship recipients to be eligible to use scholarship funds. If you are applying there is an APSI Scholarship as a payment type in Cvent. There is also an APSI Scholarship as a payment type on the local APSI web site.

 

Teachers should first register for the APSI with the College Board as an APSI scholarship recipient.  Next, the teacher registers with the APSI on their web site as an APSI scholarship recipient.
